No. 24 Men's Soccer remains unbeaten with 4-1 win at Muskingum

NEW CONCORD — The No. 24-ranked Ohio Northern men's soccer team remains unbeaten on the season with a 4-1 win at Muskingum on Saturday afternoon.
The Basics
- Records: #24 Ohio Northern (8-0-4 Overall, 3-0-0 OAC), Muskingum (7-6-0 Overall, 0-2-0 OAC).
- Venue: North Athletic Turf Field — New Concord, Ohio.
The Match
- Junior Enzo Bordogna (Almont, Mich./Brother Rice) scored unassisted in the 22nd minute to go up 1-0.
- In the 31st minute, junior Aidan McMahon (Naperville, Ill./North) scored unassisted.
- Sophomore Johnny Roussakis (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) scored off an assist from junior Colin Gottron (Centerville) in the 57th minute to make the score 3-0.
- Just 2:10 later, fifth-year senior Tanner Locke (Canton, Mich./Salem) scored unassisted to go up 4-0.
- Muskingum scored in the 85th minute to make the score 4-1.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Carson Zurmehly (Batavia/McNicholas) had one save in goal for ONU.
- ONU out-shot MU 42-9 and had an 20-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Notables
- This is the 2nd time in program history and the first time since 2016 that ONU has been undefeated after its first 12 games.
- The Polar Bears are now 35-6-2 all-time against Muskingum, including a 15-5-0 mark in New Concord.
- Gottron leads the team with 13 points off five goals and three assists.
- Senior Gage Foster (Mason) and sophomore Wil Baker (Hilliard/Davidson) each have a team-best four assists.
- Zurmehly leads the OAC in goals against average (.667), shutouts (6) and save percentage (.810).
- Gottron leads the OAC with three game-winning goals.
- This is the 51st season of Ohio Northern men's soccer. The Polar Bears are now 549-299-83 all-time in program history.
- Sixth-year head coach Chris Matejka is now 78-31-24 at Ohio Northern.
