Men's Lacrosse earn 21-4 victory at Marietta, wins fifth straight game

MARIETTA — Fifteen different Polar Bears scored goals to lead the way for the Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team to extend its winning streak to fifth games with a 21-4 win at Marietta in an Ohio Athletic Conference game on a warm Friday afternoon.

- Freshman Aidan Sexton (Milford) led Northern with a three-goal hat trick.
- Junior Jack Chaney (Westerville/South) and sophomore Ryan Baum (Galena/Olentangy Berlin) each added two goals and an assist in the contest.
- The Polar Bear offense began the first period on a 5-0 run.
- Junior Ryan Frech (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) found the back of the net to open the second period to extend the lead to 9-1.
- After a Pioneer goal, Northern went on a 3-0 run to secure a 13-2 lead going into halftime.
- Freshman Lucas Winkelman (McHenry, Ill.) opened the third period with a goal, extending the lead to 14-2.
- Ohio Northern led 19-3 going into the fourth period.
- Sophomore Carson Yackey (Batavia/Cincinnati Country Day) and freshman Luke Williams (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) combined for eight saves in goal for ONU.
- ONU out-shot MC 49-24 and won the ground ball battle 51-33.

- Chaney leads the Polar Bears in points this season with 28 on 14 goals and 14 assists.
