Women's Lacrosse drops a 15-3 contest at Baldwin Wallace to end regular season action

BEREA— The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team fell 15-3 at Baldwin Wallace in an Ohio Athletic Conference contest on a rainy Wednesday evening to wrap up regular season play.

- Records: Ohio Northern (9-8 Overall, 3-3 OAC), Baldwin Wallace (11-3 Overall, 5-1 OAC).

The Game
- Freshman Gabby Juergens (Springfield/Northwestern) put Northern on the scoreboard with a goal with 9:37 left in first period.
- Baldwin Wallace held a 10-1 lead going into halftime.
- Freshman Amber Reagan (Dublin/Bishop Watterson) found the back of the net for the Polar Bears in the third period.
- The Yellow Jackets led 13-2 heading into the fourth period.
- Sophomore Jaxsyn Murdock (Galloway/Alder) scored on a free position goal with 4:40 left in the fourth period for ONU.
- Sophomore Kara Fox (South Euclid/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) had seven saves and in goal for Ohio Northern.
- BW out-shot ONU 28-12 and had the ground ball advantage 20-13.
Notables
- ONU has clinched the No.4 seed in the OAC tournament and will play at No.1 seed Mount Union on Wednesday April 29th.
- This is Northerns sixth apperance in the OAC tournament in program history.
- Senior Elena Martin (Canfield) is the all-time career goals leader with 148.
- She also has a school record 255 draw controls, including a team-best 74 this season.
- Martin is also second in career points with 195, in caused turnovers with 95, and assists with 47.
- Martin leads the Polar Bears in scoring this season with 65 points on 49 goals and 16 assists.
- Senior Lydia Lehman (West Chester/Lakota West) is second with 39 points on 15 goals and 25 assists.
- Martin is the team leader in ground balls this season with 43.
- Senior Emma Hoersten (Hilliard/Davidson) is second in ONU history in career goals with 137 and third in points with 167.
- She also has the ONU career record in free-position goals with 45.
- Head coach Margo Vandeveld is in her third season at Ohio Northern and has a 28-24 record, a winning percentage of .538.
