Elena Martin ties school record with 8 goals as Women's Lacrosse earns 18-6 over Marietta

ADA — Senior Elena Martin (Canfield) had eight goals and one assist to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team to an 18-6 win over Marietta on a beautiful Thursday evening.

- Martin led ONU with nine points on eight goals and one assist.
- Senior Lydia Lehman (West Chester/Lakota West) had one goal and four assists in the contest.
- Senior Emma Hoersten (Hilliard/Davidson) opened the scoring for ONU by finding the back of the net in the first period.
- After an MC goal, the Orange and Black offense went on a 3-0 run to extend the lead to 5-1 in the first period.
- Martin and Clarissa Hamilton (Marysville) both scored goals late in the second period to give Northern a 11-6 lead going into halftime.
- Four different Polar Bears found the back of the net in the third period to give ONU a 15-6 advantage heading into the fourth period.
- The Orange and Black defense did not allow a goal for the entire second half.
- Sophomore Kara Fox (South Euclid/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) had eight saves and the win in goal for Ohio Northern.
