Men's Lacrosse captures a 17-3 win over Capital in the OAC Tournament semifinals

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team earned a 17-3 victory over Capital in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals on a beautiful Wednesday evening.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (12-6 Overall, 7-1 OAC), Capital (8-9 Overall, 5-3 OAC).

- Junior Jack Chaney (Westerville/South) led the way for ONU with two goals and two assists.
- Seniors J.D. Hale (West Chester/Lakota West) and Mark Mintzlaff (St. Louis, Mo./Country Day) had three goals each in the contest.
- The Polar Bear offense opened the game with a 3-0 run to take an early lead in the first period.
- Ohio Northern went on a 6-0 run in the second period, with six different goal scorers.
- The Orange and Black defense held Capital scoreless for the entire second period.
- ONU led Capital 9-1 heading into halftime.
- After the Comets scored to begin the third period, Northern would respond with 5-0 run to take a 14-2 lead going into the fourth period.
- Junior Ryan Frech (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) opened the fourth period with a goal with 11:36 left in the game to extend the lead to 15-2.
- Senior Rudy DeFilippis (White Plains, N.Y.) led the ONU defense with a game-high three caused turnovers.
- Sophomore Peyton Lich (Palmyra, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) had seven saves in goal and earned the win in goal for Northern.
- The Polar Bears out-shot the Comets 58-19 and had the ground ball advatange 44-25.
