Meet Preview: Ohio Northern continues its 2023 outdoor season at the two-day Ashland Alumni Open on Friday and Saturday … Friday's events begin at 10 a.m. and include men's and women's hammer throw and javelin followed by women's and men's triple jump at 3 p.m. … Saturday's field events begin at 10 a.m., and running events begin at 11 a.m. … Northern is ranked No. 4 in the Great Lakes Region in this week's USTFCCCA Rating Index … ONU is coming off winning its nine-team Mike Becraft Invitational home meet last Friday and Saturday, scoring 267 points … Senior Anna Schatzle won the pole vault with a mark of 3.61 meters … Freshman Lauryn Wolters won the triple jump with a mark of 10.55 meters … Sophomore Olyvia Ashbrook won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.92 … Senior Taylor Ellerbrock won the 5,000 in 18:27.37 … The team of sophomores Chloe Gibson and Kendra Krichbaum and freshmen Stacey Legg and Haley Cannon won the 4x100 relay in :50.51 … Northern currently owns three marks that rank in the top 30 nationally in Division III in their respective events … The top 22 individuals in each event and top 16 school relay teams will qualify for the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships … Senior Tessa Pitcovich is 19th in the 10,000 (36:07.00) … In the pole vault, freshman Claire Schweller is tied for 22nd (3.65 meters), and Schatzle is 26th (3.61 meters).
