Schatzle, Ogg lead Women's Outdoor Track and Field to fourth place finish at BW OAC Tune-Up meet

BEREA — The Ohio Northern women's track & field finished fourth of seven teams at the Baldwin Wallace OAC Tune-Up meet on Friday at Finnie Stadium.
The Polar Bears (28-12 overall) finished with 93.5 points. Mount Union won the team title with 163 points, John Carroll was second with 136 points and Otterbein was third with 126.5 points.
Ohio Northern had five athletes post second place finishes.
A pair of pole vaulters led the team, as sophomore Anna Schatzle (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County) and freshman Olivia Ogg (Hebron/Lakewood) tied for second by clearing 3.23 meters.
Freshman J.J. Herron (Miamisburg) was second in the 400 in 1:01.09, freshman Hope Stanley (Geneva) was second in the javelin with a toss of 30.66 meters and freshman Natalie Garrett (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) was second in the hammer with a heave of 43.80 meters.
Senior Stella DeWitt (Weston/Cardinal Stritch) was third in the long jump with a leap of 5.12 meters, junior Kayla Silva (Westerville/South) was third in the 100 in :12.45 and freshman Rachel Thompson (West Milton/Milton-Union) was third in the 5000 in 19:50.22.
The Polar Bears will return to action Thursday and Friday at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships at Heidelberg.
