Women's Lacrosse drops 18-7 contest to Oberlin

ADA — The Ohio Northern's women's lacrosse team fell 18-7 against Oberlin on a warm, rainy and windy Saturday afternoon.
The Basics

The Game
- Freshman Clarissa Hamilton (Marysville) led Northern with a three-goal hat trick in the contest.
- Hamilton found the net twice to cut into the Yeowomen's lead 4-2 at the end of the first period.
- OC led 11-2 heading into halftime.
- Hamilton and junior Abbi Arnold (Pickerington/Central) each scored in the third period to cut into the lead, making it 13-4.
- After an OC goal, sophomore Jaxsyn Murdock (Galloway/Alder) and freshman Natalie Ionata (Silver Spring, Md./Holy Cross) scored back-to-back goals in the fourth period.
- Oberlin was led by Kylie Thompson with four goals and an assist.
- OC out-shot ONU 33-13 and had the ground ball advantage 20-11.

- Senior Elena Martin (Canfield) leads the Polar Bears in scoring this season with 19 points on 13 goals and six assists.
- Senior Emma Hoersten (Hilliard/Davidson) is second with 13 points on 10 goals and three assists.
- Hamilton is second with 12 goals and is third with 12 points.
- Hoersten is first in ONU history in career goals with 135 and second in points with 166.
- She also has the ONU career record in free-position goals with 44.
- Martin is third in career goals with 112 and points with 148.
