Eight Polar Bears named All-OAC in Men's Lacrosse for 2024

ADA — Ohio Northern fifth-year seniors Andrew Reimer (Lancaster, N.Y.), Cole Zaferakis (Liverpool, N.Y.) and Ethan Hojnacki (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley), seniors John Lynn (Cincinnati/Sycamore), Aidan Dempsey (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's College), Ben Wilson (Dublin/Bishop Watterson), Bennett Michel (Perrysburg), and junior Joe Keeley (Boynton Beach Fla./Georgetown Prep) were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in men's lacrosse for 2024 in voting conducted by the league's head coaches.
Reimer and Lynn were named to the All-OAC First Team, Zaferakis, Hojnacki, Dempsey, and Wilson were named to All-OAC Second Team, and Keeley and Michel were Honorable Mention selections.
This is Reimer's second All-Conference accolade as a defender after being named to Second Team in 2023.
Reimer started 17 games this season and finished with 38 ground balls, 18 caused turnovers, and two goals.
In 53 career games at ONU, he has 111 ground balls and 51 caused turnovers along with eight points on five goals and three assists. He ranks 4th all-time at ONU in caused turnovers and 8th in ground balls.
This is Lynn's second All-OAC selection as a midfielder after being named to Second Team in 2023.
Lynn started all 19 games this season, tallying 34 points on 17 goals and a team-high 17 assists, along with 14 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Lynn has started all 54 of his career games at ONU and has 91 points on 55 goals and 36 assists, 41 ground balls, and 19 caused turnovers. He ranks 5th all-time at ONU in points, 8th in goals, and 5th in assists.
Dempsey earned his first All-OAC honor after starting 17 games this season as an attack and finishing the year with 60 points on 46 goals and 14 assists to go with 30 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. He led the team this season in points and goals and is now ONU's single-season leader in goals and is tied for second at ONU in single-season points.
In his career, he has 145 points on 103 goals and 42 assists, along with 268 shots, 79 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers. He ranks 3rd all-time at ONU in both points and goals and 4th in shots.
Zaferakis is now a three-time All-Conference honoree after earning Honorable Mention status in 2022 and 2023.
Zaferakis started all 19 games this season as the goalkeeper and closed the year with a 12-6 record to go with 150 saves, a .547 save percentage, and a 7.32 GAA.
Named to the InsideLacrosse.com All-Freshman Team in 2020, Zaferakis is a seven-time OAC Defensive Player of the Week selection who owns program records for saves in a game (19), single-season saves (150) and single-season wins in goal (12). He is also ONU's all-time career leader in saves (441), wins (36) and goalie minutes (2,765:52). His career GAA of 8.33 ranks third all-time, and he has a career record of 36-19 with a save percentage of .535.
Named to the InsideLacrosse.com All-Freshman Team in 2020, Zaferakis is a six-time OAC Defensive Player of the Week selection who owns program records for saves in a game (19), single-season saves (142) and single-season wins in goal (12). He is also ONU's all-time career leader in saves (591), wins (48) and goalie minutes (3,782:41). His career GAA of 8.06 ranks 4th all-time, and he has a career record of 48-25 with a save percentage of .538.
Hojnacki earned his first All-Conference honor after starting all 19 games this season with 29 ground balls and a team-best 21 caused turnovers along with one assist.
In 70 career games, he has 96 ground balls, 51 caused turnovers, and seven points on five goals and two assists. He ranks 4th all-time at ONU in caused turnovers.
Wilson was awarded his first All-OAC accolade after finishing the season with 23 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers, and three assists.
In his career, he has 43 ground balls, 27 caused turnovers, and three assists.
This is Keeley's first All-OAC honor after starting 18 games this season finishing with 15 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers.
In 54 career games, he has 73 ground balls, 44 caused turnovers, and one assist. He ranks 6th all-time at ONU in caused turnovers.
Michel has also earned his first All-OAC honor after finishing the season with 29 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers, and one assist.
In his career, he has 75 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers to go with eight points on six assists and two goals.
The Polar Bears posted their ninth consecutive winning season in 2024, going 13-6 overall, and were third in the OAC with a 7-2 league record under ninth-year head coach Nat St. Laurent.
