Football rolls to 42-9 Homecoming victory over Marietta in battle of league unbeatens

ADA — Ohio Northern rolled to a 42-9 Homecoming football victory over Marietta on a hot and sunny Saturday afternoon in a battle of league unbeatens.
The Basics

The Game
- Northern scored on four of its six first half possessions to build a 28-3 halftime lead.
- Senior Sam Feldman (Springboro) completed 21-of-30 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns.
- Junior Seth Borondy (Bellbrook) caught six passes for 100 yards and a TD.
- Junior Kyle Celestin (Miami, Fla./Surge Academy) caught six passes for 74 yards and a score.
- Senior Louie Blasiole (Mantua/Crestwood) ran 19 times for 51yards and two touchdowns.
- Junior Jordan Pettaway (Oregon/Clay) ran 11 times for 72 yards and a TD.
- Northern marched 43 yards on five plays on its second possession after an interception by senior Myles Aldrich (Lima/Shawnee) to go up 7-0 on an 11-yard TD pass from Feldman to Celestin with 5:14 gone in the contest.
- Pettaway scored on a 14-yard TD run with 13:03 left in the half to make it 14-3.
- Borondy made it 21-3 with 7:50 left in the half on a 7-yard TD reception from Feldman.
- Blaisole banged in from 7 yards out with 1:10 left before half and it was 28-3 heading into intermission.
- Senior Kameron Cox (Enon/Greenon) caught a 1-yard TD pass on Northern's first drive of the third quarter to extend the lead to 35-3 with 9:54 left in the third quarter.
- Defensively, senior Terrion Ross (Findlay) had eight tackles, a fumble recovery and a PBU to lead the ONU defense.
- Marietta was led by Antwon Johnson, who was 14-of-25 passing for 176 yards.
- The Polar Bears out-gained the Pioneers 434-251 in total offense and held the ball for 36:52.

- ONU leads the series between the two schools by a 36-14-1 margin, with an 8-3 record at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
- Northern is now 53-44-4 in its 101 Homecoming games.
