Volleyball ranked No. 23 in Week 2 AVCA Poll

ADA — The Ohio Northern volleyball team is ranked No. 23 in the AVCA/TARAFLEX NCAA Division III Volleyball Week 2 Poll, which was released on Tuesday.
Northern received 228 points in the poll and is making its season debut inside the top 25 after being in the "others receiving votes" category in the preseason and Week 1 polls.
ONU received 73 points in last week's poll and was third among the teams in the "others receiving votes" category.
The Polar Bears are coming off a 2-1 showing at the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational where they defeated Millikin (Ill.) and Carthage (Wis.) and fell in four sets to then-No. 8 Wisconsin Oshkosh.
Defending national champion Juniata (Pa.) is the top-ranked team in the poll, and Hope (Mich.) is No. 2.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Calif.) and Calvin (Mich.) round out the top five.
The Polar Bears (6-1 overall) return to action on Wednesday for their home opener against Bluffton at 7 p.m. followed by the 44th annual ONU Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
