Junior Rachel Jennings named OAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern junior Rachel Jennings (Novi, Mich.) was named OAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 4-10.

This marks the fifth such honor of Jennings' career.

The latest accolade comes after she was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational where she helped lead the Polar Bears to a 2-1 record with wins over Millikin (Ill.) and Carthage (Wis.) and a four-set loss to No. 8 Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Jennings totaled 87 digs in the three games with a high of 37 against Millikin, and she had just two receiving errors as ONU improved to 6-1 on the season.

She now has a team-best 159 digs on the season, which ranks second in the OAC.

The Polar Bears return to action on Wednesday for their 2023 home opener against Bluffton at 7 p.m.
