By Blake Moore
ADA - Junior outside hitter McKenna Jordan (Toledo/St. Ursula) has been tabbed the OAC Volleyball Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Jordan helped guide the Polar Bears to a pivotal 3-1 conference win over Otterbein on Tuesday and a tight-knit 3-2 victory over Mount Union on Saturday. With the victories, Ohio Northern claimed a share of its third consecutive OAC Regular Season title and captured the top-seed in the OAC Tournament.
The junior outside hitter registered 40 kills over the two-match span (4.44 kills per set) on 104 total attacks for a .288 hitting percentage to lead the Polar Bear offense. She would add seven digs and finish tied for second on the team with four total blocks throughout the week.
With the nomination, Jordan receives the first OAC Athlete of the Week accolade of her career. She also becomes the third Ohio Northern volleyball player to earn the award this season.
The Polar Bears will now turn their attention to the OAC Tournament scheduled this week. Ohio Northern opens their run for a championship title on Tuesday, October 30 when they host eighth-seeded Marietta inside the ONU Sports Center at 7 p.m.
