Schweller, Wagner, Baker-Schlendering qualify for NCAA III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships

ADA — Senior All-American Claire Schweller (Paulding), junior Katelyn Wagner (Sycamore/Wynford) and sophomore All-American Avery Baker-Schlendering (Freeport, Maine) have all qualified for the NCAA III Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 21-23 at La Crosse, Wis.
Schweller is making her sixth NCAA Championships appearance in the pole vault after earning All-America honors in the event in 2024 and will compete at Noon (CDT) on Thursday.
Wagner is making her first appearance in the championships and will compete in the shot put and will compete on Friday at 1 pm (CDT).
Baker-Schlendering is making her first appearance in the championships and will compete in the high jump on Friday at 2 pm (CDT).
Schweller is seeded eighth of 22 competitors in the pole vault with a career-best effort of 4.00 meters.
She earned All-America honors Outdoors in 2024 with a sixth place finish by clearing 3.86 meters.
She also has three ninth place finishes and a tenth place finish in the event.
Wagner qualified 20th of 22 in the shot put with a career-best effort of 13.60 meters.
Baker-Schlendering is seeded third nationally with a school-record 1.75 meter effort.
She earned All-America honors Indoors this March by finishing sixth at 1.70 meters.
The top 22 individuals and the top 16 relay teams in each event qualify for the NCAA Championships.
The top eight finishers in each event earn All-America honors.
