Wagner wins shot put as Women's Indoor Track and Field takes 4th at All-Ohio Championships

WESTERVILLE — Junior Katelyn Wagner (Sycamore/Wynford) won the shot put on Saturday to help in Ohio Northern's 4th place team finish at the All-Ohio Championships.
The Basics
- ONU finished 4th of 16 teams with 57.5 points.
- Record: Ohio Northern (35-7 Overall).
- Ohio Wesleyan won the team title with 150.5 points, Case Western was 2nd with 85 points, and Baldwin Wallace was 3rd with 61.5 points.
- The ONU team is a split-squad, as some athletes competed at Friday's Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet.

Top ONU Performers
- Wagner won the shot put with a heave of 12.79 meters.
- Senior Stacey Legg (Monroeville) took 2nd in the triple jump, leaping 10.26 meters.
- Freshman Danika Denman (Fremont/Ross) tied for 2nd in the pole vault by clearing a career-best 3.57 meters.
- Junior Anna Brady (Sidney) took 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 12.74 meters.
- Freshman Allison Woodruff (Arlington/Riverdale) finished 3rd in the mile run in 5:20.26.
- ONU's 4x200m relay team of Freshman Mia Trusso (Willoughby Hills/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin), sophomore Kendyl Stone (Ashland), sophomore Lauren Gossett (Beloit/West Branch), and sophomore Tatum Walsh (Lima/Bath) were fourth in 1:49.06.

- The meet consisted of 19 women's events with 6 field events, 10 running events, and 3 relays.
- Denman improved her standing in 10th place all-time in ONU history in the pole vault.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 17th year at Ohio Northern and is 636-183-1 in women's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .774. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
