ADA — Sophomore Avery Baker-Schlendering (Freeport, Maine) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 19-25.
This marks her second career Athlete of the Week accolade and second this season.
The recognition comes after winning the high jump by clearing a career-best 1.72 meters and breaking the nearly 20-year-old school record at the Hillsdale College Wide Track Classic on Friday.
Baker-Schlendering broke the high jump record of 1.70 meters set by Sara McGinnis on Jan. 28, 2006 - just five days shy of its 20th anniversary.
Ohio Northern finished third of nine teams with 114.5 points.
The Polar Bears (14-4 Overall) return to action on Friday when they host the annual Joe Banks Invitational at the ONU Fieldhouse.
