Senior Izzy Burman named First Team Academic All-America in Women's Track and Field by College Sports Communicators

ADA — Ohio Northern senoir Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) was named First Team Academic All-America in women's track and field by the College Sports Communicators.
Burman, an accounting major, is a two-time Academic All-District and three-time Academic All-OAC honoree.
This season, she qualified for both the Indoor and Outdoor NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.
In indoor, she qualified in the weight throw, placing 13th at Nationals with a throw of 17.18 meters. She also won her third consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference indoor weight throw title.
In outdoor, she qualified in the shot put and hammer throw. She earned All-America honors in the shot put, placing fifth with a toss of 14.35 meters, breaking her own school record. She finished 20th in the hammer throw with a school-record 53.65 meters. She also won her second consecutive shot put and hammer throw titles at the OAC championships.
The Polar Bears posted a 37-4 indoor record and a 44-5 outdoor record during the 2025 season. They finished second at the Indoor OAC Championships and won the Outdoor OAC title for the second consecutive year under 16th-year head coach Jason Maus.
