Friend shatters school record in discus throw as Women's Track and field team wraps up regular season at Mount Union Final Qualifier

ALLIANCE — Senior Hannah Friend (Luckey/Eastwood) shattered the school record in the discus to lead the Ohio Northern women's track and field team as it wrapped up its regular season at the Mount Union Final Qualifier Senior Wednesday and Thursday.

- Friend broke the school record in the discus by a full 6 feet with a toss of 46.09 meters, finishing second.
- She was also fifth in the shot at 12.99 meters, eighth in the hammer at 48.07 meters and was 11th in the javelin at 24.82 meters.
- Senior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) was fourth in the shot put at 13.07 meters, was seventh in the discus at 40.64 meters and was seventh in the hammer at 50.16 meters.
- Junior All-American Claire Schweller (Paulding) was second in the pole vault by clearing 3.70 meters.
