Senior Izzy Burman named OAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week for second time this season

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Apr. 14-20.
This is Burman's sixth time receiving the honor in her career and second time this season.
The recognition comes after breaking two school records to lead the women's outdoor track and field team to victory at the fifth annual Mike Becraft Invitational at ONU on Saturday. Burman broke her own previous hammer record by 10' 8" to win the event at 53.65 meters (176' 0"). She also broke the shot put record with a heave of 13.31 meters (43' 8") to finish second in the event.
Burman ranks first in the OAC and 12th nationally in the weight throw and ranks first in the OAC and 20th nationally in the shot put. She also ranks fifth in the OAC in the discus.
Burman was the OAC Champion in the hammer throw and shot put last year at the outdoor conference meet.
The Polar Bears return to action on Friday and Saturday at the Ashland Invitational.
