Ashbrook wins three events, leads Women's Track and Field to victory at Manchester (Ind.) Invitational

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. — Senior Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge) won three events to lead the women's outdoor track and field team to a victory at the Manchester (Ind.) Invitational on a wet and chilly Saturday.

Meet Results
- Ohio Northern won 11 events and finished first of eight teams with 307 points.
- Rose-Hulman (Ind.) was second with 106 points and Trine (Ind.) and Manchester (Ind.) tied for third with 98 points each.
- The meet consisted of 19 events, including eight field events, nine running events and two relays.
Top ONU Performers
- Ashbrook won three events in the meet.
- Individually, she won the 100-meter hurdles in :15.08 and won the 400 hurdles in 1:07.23.
- She also combined with freshman Tatum Walsh (Lima/Bath), freshman Kaylana Logan (Columbus/Westerville North) and sophomore Lily Wolfe (Mansfield/Lexington) to win the 4x400 relay in 4:08.92.
- Senior Jaclyn Boardman (Franklin, Ind./Franklin Community) won the pole vault, clearing 3.20 meters.
- Senior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) won the hammer throw with a toss of 49.49 meters.
- Senior Sami Sellers (Van Wert/Lincolnview) won the discus at 42.12 meters.
- Junior Lauryn Wolters (Anna) won the triple jump with a leap of 9.98 meters
- Sophomore Katie Floyd (Swanton) won the javelin throw with a heave of 35.90 meters.
- Sophomore AnnaSophia Gower (Perrysburg) won the 3,000 steeplechase in 11:43.46.
- Freshman Emersyn Gerken (Liberty Center) won the high jump by clearing 1.60 meters.
- Freshman Katelyn Stechschulte (Findlay) won the long jump with a leap of 5.09 meters.
- The 4x100 relay team of sophomore Paige Simpson (Merrillville, Ind.), senior Kendra Krichbaum (Ashland), freshman Kendyl Stone (Ashland) and Walsh won in :50.00.
Notables
- Walsh moved into sixth place all-time in ONU history in the 100 with her :12.53 clocking.
- Sophomore Anna Brady (Sidney) was third in the shot 12.41 meters, improving on her sixth-place effort all-time at 40' 8.75".
- Freshman Je'Leycia Procter (Dayton/Early College) moved into eighth place all-time in the 100 hurdles with her second place time of :15.39.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 511-178-3 in women's outdoor track and field for a winning percentage of .741.

- The Polar Bears will return to action next weekend at several different locations. Part of the team will compete at the All-Ohio Championships at Ohio Wesleyan Friday and Saturday, some athletes will compete at the Duke Invitational on Friday and Saturday and part of the team will compete at the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
