Schweller, Burman, Gerken lead Women's Indoor Track and Field at Polar Bear Final Qualifier

ADA — The Ohio Northern Women's Indoor Track and Field team wrapped up its regular season by hosting the Polar Bear Final Qualifier Friday and Saturday.

Top ONU Performers
- Senior Claire Schweller (Paulding) won the pole vault by clearing a career-best 3.94 meters.
- Senior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) won the weight throw with a toss of 17.35 meters.
- Junior Ellie Ford (Upper Arlington) was third in the event by clearing 3.68 meters.
- Freshman Emersyn Gerken (Liberty Center) won the high jump by clearing 1.64 meters.
- ONU also won the mile and the 3,000-meter runs unopposed.
- In the mile, senior Ashley Hockstok (Westerville/Central) won in 5:20.84, senior Natalie Armbruster (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) was second in 5:27.44 and junior Samantha Roth (Brunswick) was third in 5:29.38 in the 3-women field.
- In the 3k, sophomore Isa Ramos (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) won in 11:08.34, freshman Z Ramsey (Pemberville/Eastwood) was second in 12:08.43 and freshman Bridget Collins (Cleveland/St. Joseph) was third in 12:52.79 in the 3-woman field.
- The Polar Bears had a very strong showing in the shot put.
- Burman was third at 13.31 meters, sophomore Katelyn Wagner (Sycamore/Wynford) was fourth in a career-best 13.07 and sophomore Anna Brady (Sidney) was fifth in a career-best of 12.97 meters.
- Freshman Je'Leycia Procter (Dayton/Early College) was second in the 60 hurdles in in a career-best 9.47 seconds.
- Freshman Kaylana Logan (Columbus/Westerville North) was fifth in the 200 in :27.41.

- Schweller improved her PR in the pole vault and remains second all-time at ONU at 12-11.
- She now is tied for fourth nationally in the event.
- Wagner is now fourth all-time at ONU in the shot put at 42-10.75.
- Brady's PR of 42-6.75 keeps her in fifth in ONU history.
- Procter's :09.47 in the 60 hurdles moves her into eighth place on ONU's all-time list.
- Burman remains ranked #17 nationally in the weight throw at 58' 1.75".
- Ford remains ranked #17 nationally in the pole vault.
- Friend entered Saturday's meet ranked #20 in the shot put.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 607-178-1 in women's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .772. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
