Burman wins third consecutive weight throw title to lead ONU on first day of OAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships

ADA — Senior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) won the weight throw to lead Ohio Northern on the first day of the 2025 OAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.

- Burman won the weight throw with a toss of 17.60 meters.
- Senior Hannah Friend (Luckey/Eastwood) also earned All-Conference honors in the event, finishing second at 16.22 meters.
- Junior All-American Claire Schweller (Paulding) was second in the pole vault, clearing 3.89 meters, to earn All-OAC honors.
- Junior Ellie Ford (Upper Arlington) also earned All-Conference accolades in the pole vault, clearing 3.79 meters to finish third.
- The distance medley relay team of senior Abby Matthews (Lithopolis/Bloom Carroll), freshman Alex Vargo (Lorain/Steele), junior Kaitlin Prusnek (Findlay) and sophomore AnnaSophia Gower (Perrysburg) finished third in 12:41.60 to earn All-Conference honors.
- Senior Jaclyn Boardman (Franklin, Ind./Community) was fourth in the pole vault, clearing 3.39 meters.
- Freshman Tatum Walsh (Lima/Bath) was fourth in the 400 in :58.21.
- Junior Lauryn Wolters (Anna) was fifth in the long jump at 5.32 meters.
- ONU finished 5-8 in the 5,000. Senior Ashley Hockstok (Westerville/Central) was fifth in 18:24.75, junior Samantha Roth (Brunswick) was sixth in 18:24.46, senior Natalie Armbruster (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) was seventh in 18:42.77 and junior Kennedy Rader (Mason) was eighth in 18:54.05.
- Senior Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge) was second in the 60 hurdle prelims in :09.23, followed in eighth by Vargo in :09.71.
- Sophomore Paige Simpson (Merrillville, Ind.), Walsh and senior Kendra Krichbaum (Ashland) all qualified for the finals in the 60 prelims. Simpson was third in :07.84, Walsh was fourth at :07.86 and Krichbaum was sixth in :07.95.

- Burman has now won three consecutive weight throw OAC titles and is a 6-time OAC champion in her career.
- Simpson tied her PR in the 60 and remains tied for second with Walsh at 7.84 seconds on ONU's all-time career list.
