Claire Schweller receives bid to compete at 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships

ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Claire Schweller (Paulding) has qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

She will compete in the pole vault.

For each individual event contested, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.

Schweller will be the No. 5 seed in the pole vault by clearing a career-best 3.93 meters. That mark ranks second all-time at ONU.

This comes after Schweller finished ninth in the event at the NCAA III Indoor Championships in March at Virginia Beach, Va.

The 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held May 23-25 at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The women's pole vault is scheduled for Thursday at noon.

Schweller also swept the Ohio Athletic Conference titles in the pole vault at both the Indoor and Outdoor Championships earlier this season.

The top eight finishers in each event earn All-America honors.
