Women’s Outdoor Track and Field posts 8 top-10 finishes at Baldwin Wallace Twilight Meet

BEREA — The Ohio Northern women's outdoor track and field team posted eight top-10 finishes at the Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet at Baldwin Wallace's George Finnie Stadium and the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds on Thursday and Friday.
Senior Taylor Ellerbrock (Columbus Grove) led the way for the Polar Bears (28-5 overall) at the meet, which was not team scored.
Ellerbrock finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:32.20.
Sophomores Hannah Friend (Luckey/Eastwood) and Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) both finished in the top 10 in the discus on Thursday.
Friend placed fourth with a mark of 39.13 meters, and Burman was ninth with a mark of 35.14 meters.
Friend and Burman also competed in Friday's shot put and hammer throw.
Friend was 12th in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 44.38 meters, which ranks eighth all-time at ONU. She was 13th in the shot put with a mark of 10.65 meters.
Burman was 11th in the shot put with a mark of 11.36 meters and 22nd in the hammer throw with a mark of 39.99 meters.
Northern added a pair of top-10 finishes in the pole vault courtesy of freshman Claire Schweller (Paulding) and senior Anna Schatzle (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County). Schweller was sixth with a mark of 3.61 meters, and Schatzle was ninth with a mark of 3.46 meters.
Sophomore Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge) finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:06.02, and freshman Samantha Roth (Brunswick) was sixth in the 5,000 in 18:25.16.
Freshman Lauryn Wolters (Anna) rounded out Northern's top-10 finishers with a seventh-place showing in the triple jump with a mark of 10.26 meters.
The Polar Bears return to action on Wednesday and Thursday at the Mount Union Last Chance Meet.
