10 individuals, Women's Track and Field team earn Academic awards by USTFCCCA

ADA — Ten individuals and the Ohio Northern women's track and field team received All-Academic honors for 2021 by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Seniors Kathleen Colvin (Hilliard/Bishop Ready), Kylie Vestal (Youngstown/Austintown Fitch),, Rue Whitmore (Mason), Megan Wright (Eaton/Twin Valley South) juniors Taylor Ellerbrock (Columbus Grove) and Tessa Pitcovich (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls), sophomores Cienna Kuhn (Elida) and Anna Schatzle (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County) and freshmen J.J. Herron (Miamisburg) and Alexis Starner (Wellington) all earned the award.
A total of 650 NCAA Division III women's athletes were honored. An athlete must have at least a 3.30 GPA and be in the top 50 nationally in any event and/or be a member of a top-35 relay to be eligible.
In addition, ONU was one of 213 NCAA Division III men's teams to earn the All-Academic Team award, which is given to programs with a team GPA of 3.1 or more.
The Polar Bears were 22-9 indoors and 34-15 outdoors in 2021 and finished third in the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Championships and fourth Outdoor Championships under 10th-year head coach Jason Maus.
