Saturday's Meet: The Ohio Northern men's track and field team will continue its 2021 outdoor season on Saturday at the 10-team OAC Elite Meet at Otterbein's Memorial Stadium ... Field events will start at 11 am, jumping events will start at 3 pm and running events at 4 pm ... The top 8 places will score points in the team standings (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1) ... The Polar Bears are coming off a third place finish at the 5-team Heidelberg Tyson Invitational last Saturday at Hoernemann Stadium ... Freshman Alexis Starner led ONU with a victory in the 200-meter dash in :27.38 and a second place finish in the 100 in :13.03 ... Junior Kayla Silva won the 100 in :12.34 ... Freshmen J.J. Herron and Hope Stanley also won events ... Herron won the 400 in 1:01.04 and Stanley won the javelin with a toss of 31.92 meters ... ... On the national level, the NCAA accounced field sizes of 19 individuals and 14 relay teams for the 2021 NCAA Championships May 27-29 at Greensboro, N.C. ... Senior Kylie Vestal currently ranks 6th in the 3,000 steeplechase with a season-best time of 11:20.65 ... Senior Stella DeWitt is 6th in the long jump (5.60m) ... Two more Polar Bears are within striking range of qualifying in three other events ... Silva is 23rd in the 100 (:12.34) and is 23rd in the 200 (:25.45) ... Sophomore Anna Schatzle is 27th in the pole vault (3.45m).
