ADA — Junior All-American Maggie Krause (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) has been awarded her second Ohio Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week accolade for the 2019 women's indoor track and field campaign, the OAC league office announced Monday afternoon.
On Saturday, Krause claimed her third consecutive pole vault event title at the annual Joe Banks Invitational inside the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse. Her 3.86-meter (12' 8") clearance moved the Chagrin Falls native to the top spot on the NCAA Division III performance list and placed the junior 0.20 meters (8") above the second-best mark in the OAC.
The effort is the second-best performance for a junior in program history and ranks third all-time in the event at Ohio Northern.
Krause's vault also set a new career-best for the All-American at an indoor venue.
With the selection, she receives her second career OAC Field Athlete of the Week accolade, having earned her first honor on January 21.
The Polar Bears return to action this Saturday, February 9 when they travel to Otterbein for the All-Ohio Championships.
