Freshman Emily Richards named OAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

ADA — Freshman Emily Richards has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Co-Track Athlete of the Week.
On Saturday, at the Polar Bear Invitational, Richards claimed a first place finish in the 800-meter run with a national qualifying time of 2:11.27, setting a new stadium and school record in the event.
The freshman broke the stadium record of 2:19.34 set in 2000 by Leah Kratsas of Baldwin Wallace and broke the school record of 2:11.57 set by Erin Hipp in 1997.
Ohio Northern finished second at the Polar Bear Invitational scoring 140.50 points.
ONU will return to action Friday as they travel to Alliance for the OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
