Senior Catie Huber wins two events to lead Women's Track & Field at Washington & Lee (Va.) Carnival

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Ohio Northern women's track and field team won five events and posted several top five finishes on the second day of the Washington and Lee (Va.) Carnival track meet. This competition marks the beginning of the Polar Bears' 2015 outdoor season.
This meet was not scored.
Senior Catie Huber won the 1,500-meter dash in 4:46.85, as well as the 800-meter dash in 2:20.02.
Senior Sam Hoffman won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:38.21.
The 4x100 meter relay team of senior Gabrielle Metzner, sophomore Allison Gast, junior Kristine Wagner and sophomore Rebecca Carman won in :50.08.
Metzner and Gast competed in the 100-meter hurdles, placing first and second respectively. Metzner won in :15.24, while Gast was second in :15.46.
Gast also finished third in the 100-meter dash in :12.86.
Carman placed third in the long jump, recording a leap of 5.31 meters.
The 4x400 meter relay team of freshman Emily Richards, sophomore Meagan Ellinger, junior Michelle Mosler, and junior Brittany Lee finished third in 4:06.29.
Junior Julie Amos and freshman Bethany Schneider tied for third place in the high jump. Both women jumped a height of 1.46 meters.
Freshman Haley Lyle finished third in the shot put with a throw of 10.09 meters.
Junior Michaela Dramis earned third place in the hammer throw with a pitch of 40.80 meters.
The Polar Bears will return to competition on Saturday as they compete in the Cedarville Invitational.
