4x100-meter relay team breaks school record to lead Women's Outdoor Track & Field at All-Ohio Championships

DELAWARE -- The Ohio Northern 4x100-meter relay team broke the school record to lead the women's outdoor track & field team at the All-Ohio Championships on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan.
The Polar Bears finished 14th of 19 teams with 17.5 points.
Mount Union won the team title with 136 points, Ohio Wesleyan was second with 123 points and No. 14 Baldwin Wallace finished third with 114.5 points.
The team of junior Gabrielle Metzner, sophomore Brittany Lee, freshman Meagan Ellinger and freshman Allison Gast finished the 4x100-meter relay in 49.81 seconds, bettering the previous record of 49.84 seconds.
Junior Catie Huber finished third in the 1,500-meter run, crossing the finish line in 4:41.12.
The 4x400-meter relay team sophomore Kristine Wagner, freshman Michelle Mosler, Lee and Metzner finished fourth in 4:04.03.
Freshman Dianna Johnson-Ward finished in a tie for seventh in the long jump, posting a leap of 5.11 meters (16-9.25) and senior Laura Avino recorded an eighth place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:23.06.
Ohio Northern will return to action on April 19, when it competes at the Kenyon Invitational. Events are scheduled to begin at noon.
