No. 27 Women's Tennis opens OAC slate with 7-0 victory at Capital

COLUMBUS — The No. 27-ranked Ohio Northern women's tennis team opened the OAC portion of its schedule on Wednesday afternoon with a 7-0 victory at Capital.

- Senior Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and combined with sophomore Caroline Robinson (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) to win 6-1 at No. 2 doubles to lead the Polar Bears as one of four players to go 2-0 on the day.
- Sophomore Lauren Okrainec (Ingersoll, ON, Canada/Ingersoll Collegiate) won 6-3, 6-01 at No. 2 singles and combined with freshman Amy Grace Beebe (Hudson/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) to win 6-1 at No. 3 doubles.
- Seniors Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn) and Abby Cruser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) each also posted two victories.
- Cruser won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, Hurst won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and the pair joined forces to win 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.
- Freshman Audrey Austin (Perry) won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.
- Sophomore Leah Schleibaum (West Chester/Lakota West) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

- Thus far this season, Cruser leads the Polar Bears with 28 wins, going a team-best 18-7 in singles and 12-11 in doubles.
- Hurst is second with a 15-8 singles record.
- Bell has a team-best 14 doubles wins.
