Women's Tennis evens record at 2-2 with victory over Asbury (Ky.)

LIMA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team evened its record at 2-2 on the season with a 5-2 victory over Asbury (Ky.) indoors on Saturday.

- Freshmen Audrey Austin (Perry) and Amy Grace Beebe (Hudson/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) each won twice to lead the Polar Bears.
- Austin won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 singles and combined with junior Molly McLane (Westerville/Big Walnut) to win 6-0 at No. 3 doubles.
- Beebe won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles and joined with sophomore Lauren Okrainec (Ingersoll, ON, Canada/Ingersoll Collegiate) to win 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
- Sophomore Leah Schleibaum (West Chester/Lakota West) won 6-4, 7-5 at No. 4 singles.
- Sophomore Caroline Robinson (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles
- Northern took the doubles point by winning doubles courts 2 and 3.
Notables
- Thus far this season, senior Abby Cruser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) leads the Polar Bears with 12 wins, going a team-best 7-6 in singles and 5-7 in doubles.
- Senior Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn) and senior Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) each have 10 overall victories.
- Bell is 113-68 overall in her career.
- Cruser is 112-72 overall in her career.
- Hurst is 100-57 in her career to become the third member of the current squad in ONU's 100-Win Club.
- Fourth-year head coach Sean Swisher is 55-18 at the helm of the ONU women's tennis team, a winning percentage of .753.
- He also reached the 100-win plateau at ONU, with a 100-42 record between the men's and women's squads.
