Savini, Kalmanowicz, Leatherman and Stermer named Academic All-District in Women's Swimming and Diving by College Sports Communicators

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Marisa Savini (Troy/Miami East) and sophomores Kate Kalmanowicz (Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock), Abby Leatherman (Findlay/Van Buren) and Teagan Stermer (Bradenton, Fla./Christian) were named Academic All-District in women's swimming and diving for the 2025-26 season by the College Sports Communicators.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District Women's Swimming and Diving Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced later this spring.
Savini is now a two-time Academic All-District honoree, while Kalmanowicz, Leatherman and Stermer are all earning the accolades for the first time in their careers.
Savini placed 7th in 3-meter diving and 8th in 1-meter diving at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships. She is also a three-time Academic All-OAC honoree.
Kalmanowicz earned All-Conference honors in the 200-yard fly, finishing second in 2:18.23 and in the 400 I.M., finishing third in 4:54.82. She was also part of the 800 free relay that earned All-OAC honors.
Leatherman placed third in the 200 I.M. in 2:17.35 to earn All-Conference honors, and was also on the 800 free relay team that was named All-OAC.
Leatherman is 9th all-time in ONU history in the 200 breast with a time of 2:29.26.
Stermer was named Academic All-OAC this season.
The Polar Bears finished 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the OAC, placing third at the OAC Championships under seventh-year head coach Austin Veltman.
