Women's Swimming and Diving wraps up regular season on Senior Day against Mount Union

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team celebrated Senior Day and wrapped up its regular season with a 186-104 loss to Mount Union on Saturday.

The Basics

  • Records: Ohio Northern (3-5 overall, 2-2 OAC); Mount Union (6-2 Overall, 4-0 OAC).
  • Venue: ONU Sports Center Natatorium — Ada, Ohio.

Meet Highlights

  • Freshman Catherine Greenlee (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) won three events to lead the Polar Bears.
  • She won the 50-yard free in :25.1, the 100 free in :55.33 and the 100 fly in 1:02.25.
  • Senior Lindsay Weininger (Upper Sandusky) won the 100 back in 1:05.59 and the 200 back in 2:23.86.
  • Sophomore Kate Kalmanowicz (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) won the 200 fly in 2:24.39.
  • Sophomore Gillian Yoder (Waterville/Anthony Wayne) was second in the 1-meter diving with 194.45 points and was second in the 3-meter diving with 184.25 points.
  • The 200 medley relay team of Kalmanowicz, freshman Chloe Schopperth (Centerville), Greenlee and Weininger was second in 1:59.13.
  • The 400 free relay team of Weininger, sophomore Liv Elliott (Marysville/Early Stem College), sophomore Lila DeLong (New Albany) and Kalmanowicz were second in 4:02.75.

Notables

  • The meet consisted of 16 events, including 12 individual races, two diving events and two relays.
  • Austin Veltman is 33-36 in his eighth season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
