Women's Swimming and Diving finishes third at Calvin (Mich.) Quad Meet

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team finished third at the Calvin (Mich.) Quad Meet Friday and Saturday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished third of four teams with 319 points.
- Records: Ohio Northern (2-1 overall, 2-0 OAC).
- Calvin won the team title with 1,411 points, Carthage (Wis.) was second with 960 points and Albion (Mich.) was fourth with 309 points.

Meet Highlights
- Sophomore Kate Kalmanowicz (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) led the Polar Bears by finishing fifth in the 200-yard fly in 2:26.50, sixth in the 400 I.M. in 5:09.67 and 12th in the 500 free in 5:49.52.
- Freshman Catherine Greenlee (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) was seventh in the 100 free in :56.15, 11th in the 50 free in :25.56 and 12th in the 200 free in 2:06.42.
- Sophomore Abby Leatherman (Findlay/Van Buren) was eighth in the 100 breast in 1:13.30 and was ninth in the 200 breast in 2:37.89.
- Sophomore Jillian Yoder (Waterville/Anthony Wayne) was eighth in the 3-meter diving with 101.50 points.
- Senior Lindsay Weininger (Upper Sandusky) was 12th in the 100 back in 1:09.50.
- Sophomore Lila DeLong (New Albany) was 12th in the 1650 free in 21:24.50.
- DeLong won the 400-meter free in 5:21.30, the 100 fly in 1:18.14 and the 200 free in 2:34.46.
- Freshman Chloe Schopperth (Centerville) was 12th in the 200 I.M. in 2:31.91.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 19 events, including 11 individual races, two diving events and four relays.
- The meet was scheduled for 20 events, but the final relay race was canceled due to a power outage in the natatorium.
- Austin Veltman is 32-33 in his eighth season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
