Women’s Swimming & Diving completes Day 2 of Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team wrapped up Day 2 of competition at the Wooster Invitational Friday night. Freshman Abby Schauer (Beavercreek) led the way for the Polar Bears.
Schauer touched sixth in the 400-yard individual medley, boasting a time of 4:50.81. She also helped the 800-yard freestyle relay team — of junior Marissa Taylor (Granite Falls, N.C./South Caldwell), freshman Gabrielle Grant (St. Clair Shores, Mich./Lakeview) and freshman Shelby Starkey (Bellefontaine) — finish 10th with a time of 8:25.98.
Starkey also took 10th in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 1:02.18. Freshman Madeline Markwood (Anchor Bay) took 12th in the 100-yard breaststroke after recording a time of 1:10.86. Sophomore Megan Lubinski (Milford/Brighton) and sophomore Mya Parsons (Castle Rock, Colo./Arapahoe) touched 12th in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly with times of 2:03.39 and 1:01.66, respectively.
Northern finishes up competition at the Wooster Invite Saturday with preliminary races beginning at 10 a.m.
