Women's Swimming & Diving finishes sixth of 10 teams at Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team finished sixth out of 10 teams at the three-day Wooster Invitational Thursday-Saturday at the Wooster High School and the College of Wooster's Timken Natatoriums.

The Polar Bears finished with 968.5 points in the 20 events.

No. 35-ranked Case Western Reserve won the meet with 1563 points, NCAA Division II Gannon (Pa.) was second with 1216 points and Wooster was third with 1138 points.

Senior Allison Lohnes led ONU on Saturday with a second place finish in the 200 back in 2:06.02.

Junior Jill Chapman and freshman Lauren Chaney each had third place finishes for the Polar Bears.

Chapman was third in the 100 free in :53.14 and Chaney was third in the 200 breast in 2:29.88.

The 400 free relay team of junior Emily Uhrin, Lohnes, junior Molly Wheeler and Chapman were fourth in 3:36.83.

The Polar Bears will be off for the school's Christrmas break and will return to action Jan. 15 at Oberlin.
