Women's Swimming & Diving sits second after day one of Calvin tri-meet

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Freshman Jillian Chapman had three top five finishes to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving teamon the first day of a tri-meet at Calvin (Mich.) with Albion (Mich.) Friday night at the Venema Aquatic Center.
Calvin leads the meet with 312.5 points, Ohio Northern is second with 262.5 points and Albion (Mich.) is third with 259 points.
Chapman was second in the 50 free in :26.45.
She also combined with freshman Allison Lohnes, senior Lindsey Rayhill and freshman Emily Uhrin to finish second in the 400 medley relay in 4:09.43 and joined Uhrin, Lohnes and freshman Lindsey Inkrott to finish third in the 200 free relay in 1:43.22.
Lohnes and Rayhill also finished 4-5 in the 200 I.M., with Lohnes finishing fourth in 2:19.05 and Rayhill finishing fifth in 2:20.89.
"After a solid training trip it's nice to get back to racing," ONU head coach Peggy Ewald said. "With about a month remaining until conference, this meet is an important gauge in seeing where we are."
The second session will get underway Saturday at 10 am and the final session will start Saturday night at 5:30 pm.
