ADA — Ohio Northern senior Kristy Catrine (Springboro) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of October 11-17.
This marks the second such honor for Catrine this season and fifth of her career, as she earned it three times in the 2020 season this past spring en route to being named the conference's Goalkeeper of the Year.
Catrine earned this week's honor by earning four total saves and not allowing a single goal on Wednesday at Wilmington nor Saturday against John Carrroll.
The Polar Bears recorded two wins this week, 2-0 at Wilmington and 1-0 against John Carroll.
Catrine leads the OAC in GAA with 0.50, and save percentage at .870, and is third in fewest goals against with 7.
She has a scoreless streak of 553:27 dating back to September 25th against Hanover (Ind.), she already owns the school record after a 1006:59 consecutive minute streak recorded last season.
Catrine is tied for 7th in school history with 17 shutouts, with Kristyn DeWees ('08-'11).
The Polar Bears return to action Wednesday at Heidelberg looking to maintain their undefeated OAC record at 4 p.m. at Hidden Valley Soccer Complex in Tiffin, Ohio.
