Goals from Roberts, Morris lead Gray to 2-0 victory over Orange in Women's Soccer intrasquad scrimmage

ADA — Goals from freshman Jill Roberts (Bellbrook/Carroll) and junior Tara Morris (Monroe) lifted the Gray team to a 2-0 victory over the Orange team in an Ohio Northern women's soccer intrasquad match on Thursday night at Kerscher Stadium.

The match was the first in a series of five intrasquad matches on Thursdays in October for the ONU women's soccer program. Each player on the winning team will receive three points and each player will receive a point for each goal its team scores during the match each week.

After the first week, Roberts, Morris and their 11 other teammates all have five points, while the 13 members of the Orange team all have zero points.

The teams will be shuffled around each week and an individual winner or winners will be crowned after the last match on Oct. 29.

Junior Kristy Catrine (Springboro) had seven saves in goal to post the shutout for the Gray team.

The two teams played 25 minute halfs in the opening scrimmage.
