Meagan Grierson earns third OAC weekly honor of 2018 season

ADA - Junior goalkeeper Meagan Grierson (Miamisburg) has claimed her third Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week award this season following the league's release of their weekly honors list Monday afternoon.
In a pair of 1-0 victories over Heidelberg and Capital last week, the junior netminder registered two clean sheets and six total saves while playing all 180 minutes in net. All six saves would come in Saturday's triumph over the Crusaders after she would go uncontested in Wednesday evening's win.
Grierson now has 31 career shutouts, which ties the all-time school record set by former goalkeeper Heather Davidson during the 1996-99 seasons. She also sits ninth in career saves with 133 and is currently on pace to break the single-season goals against average mark (0.42) she set in 2017.
The honor marks the third time this season and fourth time in her career that Grierson has been tabbed a Player of the Week recipient.
The Polar Bears will return to action at Kerscher Stadium on Wednesday evening in a critical Ohio Athletic Conference matchup against Otterbein. Both teams are currently tied atop the conference standings with 7-0-0 league records. Match time is set for 7 p.m. in Ada.
