ADA — Ohio Northern fell 1-0 to Case Western Reserve in the women's soccer home opener at Kerscher Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears fall to 3-4-0, while the Spartans improve to 5-1-1.
The only goal in the match came in the 15th minute as Case Western's Amy Lindberg was able to capitalize off an assist from Caitlyn McGillis.
Freshman Anna Niemeyer had a chance to tie the game in the 61st minute as she shot one off the right post.
ONU out shot the Spartans 18-16.
Sophomore Missy Ward led the Polar Bears in the match with five shots and junior goalkeeper Emily Brodict recorded nine saves.
The Polar Bears return to action on Tuesday at 7 pm as they play host to Wittenberg at Kerscher Stadium.
