ADA — The No. 20 Ohio Northern women's soccer team defeated Thomas More (Ky.) 1-0 at the ONU Soccer Field on Saturday.
The Polar Bears stay unbeaten with their record moving to 5-0-3, while the Saints drop to 7-1-0 for the season.
Junior Sandy Plunkett knocked in the lone goal of the game in the 60th minute off of a loose ball in the box.
Junior Abbie Schauble picked up the assist on the play.
"I thought today was a great win for us," ONU head coach Mark Batman said. "Thomas More is a tough team in our region. I thought our girls stepped up and played a complete game."
Senior goalie Erin Waehner picked up her fourth shutout of the year with two saves the goal.
The Polar Bears outshot the Saints 11-5.
Northern also had 11 corner kicks in comparison to four for Thomas More.
The Polar Bears will be in action again on Wednesday when they face off against Wittenberg at 4 pm at the ONU Soccer Field.
