Wrestling set to open 2026-27 season Nov. 7 at Mount Union Invitational

ADA — The Ohio Northern wrestling team will open its 2026-27 schedule on Nov. 7 at the Mount Union Invitational under 39th-year head coach Ron Beaschler.

This marks the ninth consecutive non-COVID season that ONU has traveled to Mount Union for its season opener.

The Polar Bears will begin the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of their schedule on Nov. 13th at home with Otterbein before traveling to the Military Duals at Roanoke (Va.) on Nov. 21st and Heidelberg on Dec. 1.

The 45th Annual ONU Invitational is scheduled for Dec. 5 in the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse, and the Polar Bears close out the 2026 portion of their schedule on Dec. 20 at the West Liberty (W.Va.) Hilltopper Duals.

Northern opens 2027 at the AAU Duals in Cleveland on Jan. 2, then travels to Mount Saint Joseph on Jan. 5, the NWCA National Duals (Ia.) on Jan. 8 and 9, and to the Adrian (Mich.) Open on Jan. 9.

The Polar Bears will continue OAC competition with a quad vs Wilmington & Mount Union on Jan. 16, then traveling to Manchester (Ind.) for the Tom Jarman Spartan Mat Classic Jan. 16.

ONU will then host Muskingum Jan. 19 before a few invitationals: Wheaton (Ill.) Pete Wilson on Jan. 29 and 30 and John Summa at Baldwin Wallace on Feb. 6.

Ohio Northern will travel back to Berea to wrap up OAC dual meet action at Baldwin Wallace on Feb. 11.

The Polar Bears will close out the regular season at the Mid-States Invitational in Adrian, Mich., on Feb. 13, and the Futures Invitational on Feb. 20, also at Adrian (Mich.).

Ohio Northern will host the NCAA Division III Regional IV Championships Feb. 26-27.

The NCAA Division III Championships are set for March 12-13 in La Crosse, Wisc.

The Polar Bears finished with a 14-4 record overall in 2025-26, finished second in the OAC with a 5-1 record and were ranked No. 21 nationally by the National Wrectling Coaches Association.
