Johnson earns All-American honors with 6th place finish at the 2026 NCAA III Wrestling Championships

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Sophomore Myles Johnson (Springboro) earned All-American honors with a 6th place finish at the 2026 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships on Saturday.

The Basics

- Session three was Saturday morning at 11 am EST, and the final session was Saturday evening at 8 pm EST.

ONU Individuals
- Johnson went 2-3 in the tournament to place 6th in the 197-pound weight class, clinching All-American honors.
- He won by major decision Friday morning 15-6 over No. 11-seeded Ian Pepple of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the first round.
- Johnson then won by decision 8-6 over No. 3-seed Lorenzo Pellot-Vazguez of Roanoke (Va.) in the second round on Friday Morning.
- He fell in the semifinals by major decision 18-4 to No. 2 seeded Josh Stahl of York (Pa.) Saturday morning.
- He fell in the consolation semifinals on Saturday morning by major decision 13-2 against No. 10 seeded Gunnar Garriques of Chicago (Ill.)
- Johnson fell in the 5th place match by pin against No. 8 seeded Joeseph Petrella of Baldwin Wallace on Saturday.
- Johnson concludes a fantastic sophomore campaign with a 39-7 record and a career record of 78-13.

- Johnson becomes ONU's 23rd wrestling All-American.
- He is making his second NCAA Championships appearance.
