Wrestling named Scholar All-America Top-30 Team, has 10 named Scholar All-America by NWCA

ADA — The Ohio Northern wrestling team was named a Scholar All-America Top-30 Team by the National Wrestling Coaches Association for 2025-26.
ONU posted a 3.69 team GPA which ranked 11th in the country.
The Polar Bears also had 10 student-athletes named NCAA Division III Scholar All-Americans.
Juniors Flint Guerra (Lebanon) and Hunter Probasco (Williamsport/Westfall), sophomores Casper Caizzo (Norwalk/St. Paul), Jovanni Greco (Ross), Myles Johnson (Springboro) and Chase Vanderhorst (Covington) and freshmen Troy Dyszkiewicz (Cleveland, Tenn./Walker Valley), Ben Hegler (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights), Londen Murphy (Moscow/Moeller) and Adrian Pigg (Dublin/Scioto) were among 472 individuals from 105 institutions to receive the award.
Guerra is earning NWCA Scholar All-American honors for the third consecutive season while Caizzo, Greco, Johnson and Vanderhorst are all earning Scholar All-America accolades for the second consecutive season.
Guerra, a mechanical engineering major, posted a 13-4 overall record with two pins, five tech falls and one major decision at 174 pounds this season.
In three years at ONU, Guerra has a 46-18 overall record with 14 falls, 14 tech falls and six major decisions.
Probasco had a 21-10 overall record with 10 pins, one tech fall and two major decisions at heavyweight this season.
The mathematics major has a 52-42 career record with 34 pins, one tech fall and two major decisions.
Caizzo, a finance major, earned First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors after posting a 34-9 overall record and 6-0 OAC record with 15 pins, four tech falls and five major decisions.
Caizzo has a 61-16 overall record with 27 pins, eight tech falls and 10 major decisions in his career.
Greco posted a 33-10 overall record and 3-0 OAC record with three pins, six tech falls and a team-high 13 major decisions to earn Second Team All-OAC honors.
The finance and accounting double major has a career record of 55-14 with seven pins, 13 tech falls and 17 major decisions.
Johnson earned all-America honors with a sixth place finish at the NCAA III Championships. He was named the OAC Wrestler of the Year at 197 pounds this season. He leads the team with a 38-7 overall record and 6-0 OAC record and has nine pins, nine tech falls and four major decisions.
In two years at ONU, the finance and accounting double major has a 77-13 overall record, 13-0 OAC record and 18 pins, 26 tech falls and nine major decisions.
Vanderhorst, a mechanical engineering major, was also named Second Team All-OAC after posting a 17-4 overall record and 4-0 OAC record at 133 pounds with eight pins, two tech falls and three major decisions.
Vanderhorst has a 37-18 overall record with 13 pins, nine tech falls and six major decisions in two years at ONU.
Dyszkiewicz, a biochemistry major, posted a 29-15 record at heavyweight this season with 14 pins, three tech falls and five major decisions in his first season.
Hegler was named Second Team All-OAC in his first season at Northern. The engineering major posted a 31-9 overall record and 5-1 OAC record with 11 pins, six tech falls and four major decisions at 165 pounds.
Murphy won the OAC Most Falls/Least Amount of Time Award this season with 13 pins on the season. The electrical engineering major posted a 32-8 overall record and 5-1 OAC record at 157 pounds in his first season at ONU.
Pigg, an engineering major, had a 28-10 overall record with nine pins, two tech falls and seven major decisions to finish his first season at Ohio Northern.
The Polar Bears finished 14-4 in dual meets and were second in the OAC with a 5-1 record in 2025-26 under 38th-year head coach Ron Beaschler.
