OLIVET, Mich. — The Ohio Northern wrestling team went 3-0 at the Olivet (Mich.) Duals with victories over John Carroll, Alma (Mich.), and King's (Pa.) on Saturday. 

The Basics

  • Records: Ohio Northern (4-0 Overall), John Carroll (1-2 Overall), Alma (Mich.) (0-3 Overall), Kings (Pa.) (1-2 Overall).

ONU Individuals

  • Freshman Troy Dyszkiewicz (Cleveland, Tenn./Walker Valley) went 3-0 with three pins at heavyweight.
  • Freshman Kurt Mokros (Lewis Center/Olentangy) went 3-0 with two pins at 133.
  • Senior Ajay Locke (Lancaster) went 3-0 with three tech falls at 184.
  • No. 5 ranked Sophomore Myles Johnson (Springboro) went 2-0 with a tech fall and a major decision at the 197 pound weight class. 
  • Sophomore Casper Caizzo (Norwalk/St. Paul) at 141 went 3-0 with a major decision and a tech fall.
  • Sophomore Aaron Turner (Dayton/Butler) went 2-1 at 149.
  • Freshmen Londen Murphy (Moscow/Moeller) went 3-0 with two pins at 157.
  • Freshman Ben Hegler (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) went 3-0 at 165.
  • Junior Anthony Lahoski (Peninsula/Woodridge) went 1-1 at 174.

Notables

  • The Polar Bears had 10 pins as a team in the duals. 
  • Dyszkiewicz has a team-high seven pins this season.
  • Locke is tied for 49th in program history in career wins with 72.
  • Johnson is ranked No. 5 at 197 pounds by the NWCA.
  • Ohio Northern head coach Ron Beaschler is in his 38th season and has a 395-257-4 dual meet record, a winning percentage of .602.
