Wrestling posts dominant performance at Olivet (Mich.) Duals

OLIVET, Mich. — The Ohio Northern wrestling team dominated the Olivet (Mich.) Duals on Saturday, dropping just seven of 40 individual matches en route to posting a 4-0 record over Olivet (Mich.), Adrian (Mich.), Trine (Ind.) and Alma (Mich.) at the Cutler Event Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 5-3 overall after winning all four of Saturday's duals by a combined score of 133-28.
Over the four duals, ONU tallied five pins, three technical falls and four major decisions.
Seniors Cash Thompson (Lake Odessa, Mich./Lakewood) and Jordan Hardrick (Dayton/Wayne) and freshmen Colin Mellott (Wapakoneta), Dylan Le (Powell/Dublin Scioto) and Jacob Reed (Canal Winchester/Lancaster) all posted 4-0 records on Saturday.
At 197 pounds, Thompson recorded two pins, a decision and a forfeit victory.
At 165 pounds, Hardrick recorded one major decision and three decisions.
At 125 pounds, Mellott recorded one pin, two decisions and one forfeit win.
At 133 pounds, Le recorded two technical falls, one major decision and one decision.
At 141 pounds, Reed recorded two pins, one major decision and one decision.
Reed is now 12-0 on the season.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Tuesday for a dual at Ohio Athletic Conference foe Mount Union at 7 p.m.
