Senior Elena Martin named OAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Elena Martin (Canfield) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 30-Apr. 5.

In an 18-6 win over Marietta on Thursday, Martin scored eight goals to tie ONU's single-game record.

Martin leads the team in scoring this season with 51 points on 39 goals and 12 assists.

She is one of three players at Northern to score eight goals in a single game. She has a school record 138 career goals and 233 career draw controls and is second all-time at ONU in career points (181) and caused turnovers (88) and is tied for second in assists (43).

This is Martin's second career Player of the Week accolade.

The Polar Bears (7-6 Overall, 1-1 OAC) return to action on Saturday at Muskingum at 1 p.m.
