Hoersten's third consecutive Hat Trick leads Women's Lacrosse to 12-9 victory over Adrian (Mich.)

ADA — Junior Emma Hoersten (Hilliard/Davidson) posted her third consecutive hat trick to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team to a 12-9 victory over Adrian (Mich.) on a warm and windy Friday afternoon.

- Hoersten finished with 4 goals and an assist or five points and notched her 11th career hat trick.

- Adrian led 9-7 with 9:44 to go in the game, but the ONU defense took over from there, holding the visitors scoreless for the final 24:44 of the contest.
- Junior Elena Martin (Canfield) would score with 2:45 left in the third quarter to tie the game at 9-all.
- Hoersten and Martin would score just 28 seconds apart to break the tie and put ONU ahead 11-9 with 10:14 left to play.
- Burden would add an insurance goal for Northern at the 6:51 mark to make it 12-9.
- Freshman Kara Fox (South Euclid/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) had 8 saves in goal to help the Polar Bears.
- ONU out-shot AC 28-24 but had the ground ball advantage 26-17.
